The aim of this book is to examine and describe the various aspects of costs and buildings. This book has been written for those who wish to gain an understanding of the costs of buildings. The chapters have been arranged in three sections. The first three chapters are grouped together to provide a context for the remainder of the book.
These include an introduction to the subject as a whole together with a brief history of the subject. I also feel that it is important to have a general understanding of the industry to which Cost Studies of Buildings is applied. Chapter 3 is therefore a brief synopsis of facts and figures relating to the industry. The second section of the book deals with the wider aspects of cost information and Section 3 with cost practices or techniques that can be used.
