Marina + Beach Towers by Oppenheim Architecture + Design

The ‘marina + beach towers’ are a mixed use development by miami-based firm oppenheim architecture + design. a pair of fluid forms emerge from the sandy coastline and gently arc towards the sky. the protected space between the structures is reserved for a lush garden oasis which is illuminated with ambient light and cooled with natural breezes. visitors may stroll through the natural topography along the promenade which becomes a bazaar revealing retail and dining locations. pedestrian bridges within the vertical chasm connect the interior spaces of the buildings.

the facades are comprised of residential unit modules which are successively stepped to have beach views and protect the interior from strong sunlight of the harsh desert climate. the exterior’s shape attempts to become an inherent wind catcher, a passive device used within the region to generate ventilation. solar and wind arrays will generate energy to lead to self sustenance. the need for water will be addressed with systems to reuse the water within the site and introduce up-cycling techniques for resource conservation.
